We have had a high volume of applicants who were short-listed for an interview. The process was rigorous and after a long deliberating session, our recruitment team finally appointed their team of budding gardeners!
We hope our gardeners thoroughly enjoy preserving and planting a variety of fruit and vegetables in order to see what treats our garden will provide for us in due course.
With plenty of hard work and teamwork, our fantastic team of gardeners aspire to transform Heath Mount Primary School in to a greener, brighter and healthier environment for everyone to enjoy and learn to respect our environment.
Back in April 2021, the Heath Mount Garden was created.
We devised a project to demonstrate to children how planting seeds can transform in to the healthy food that we love to eat. Interviews were conducted and a group of gardeners were hired through the interview process. We even had help from Year 1 and Year 2 who had their very own after school gardening club. Our gardeners have taken great care to ensure that the garden was carefully preserved in order to achieve the very best vegetables for their plates.
Due to the popularity of our garden, this week, we started the Year 1 and Year 2 Gardening Club! The younger children have really enjoyed learning about how to grow food and they had the opportunity to prepare our garden for yet more plants and vegetation!

The Heath Mount Garden has been blossoming beautifully thanks to the sunny and mild weather we have experienced lately. Our fantastic gardeners have been extremely busy doing some digging and raking to prepare the ground in order to plant potatoes.
In order to promote healthy eating at Heath Mount Primary School, the children are learning about “how their garden grows”,
The children will observe how with water, sun and plenty of love, the tiniest of seeds can transform in to healthy vegetables, plants and flowers.
