Early Help and Support

Throughout the year, we are often approached by parents seeking help, support or advice with a variety of issues. This page will signpost parents to additional support on a variety of topics. Parents are very welcome to arrange an appointment to meet with a member of our Pastoral Team if you would like to discuss ways in which the school can help you further.

At Heath Mount Primary School, we have ensured that help is at hand during this difficult time. In December 2021, we held a Data Surgery within our school to help our parents get online by offering free Data Sims to all of our Parents who attended the surgery.

Mental Well-Being

#you'vebeenmissed resources - campaign led by Forward Thinking Birmingham, Birmingham City Council and Birmingham Education Partnership supporting pupils, parents, carers and professionals to aid our children and young people in managing their mental wellbeing in school. Resources can be found here.

Wellbeing for Education Return - the Education Psychologist Service is offering all families in Birmingham access to the Friends ‘Start Building Resilience’ package. To access this package, families will need to email Friends4Families@birmingham.gov.uk with their child’s name and school.

Bereavement

Bereavement support for children young people & families - the NHS in Birmingham is offering confidential support to children, young people and families who are grieving. Local bereavement experts are available to offer support for all types of loss and to people of all ages. Call 0121 687 8010 for instant support.

Domestic Abuse

Financial Support

Emergency Food Assistance - grants are available at £100 per household to assist with food & fuel costs. This help is available through Hall Green Families Early Help Team. To refer yourself, please fill out a family connect form or contact the school office for more information.

British Gas Energy Trust - families who are experiencing hardship and are British Gas customers can liaise with the Trust to reduce/remove outstanding debts. Please visit their website for further details.
