If you wish for your child to attend Reception in September 2021, applications can be made online at www.birmingham.gov.uk/schooladmissions.
Admissions for children starting Reception in September are managed by Birmingham City Council School Admissions, not the school.
Reception children are admitted to school in the September following their fourth birthday. Following the Local Authority Admissions Policy, places are offered in the following order of priority:
Prospective parents are welcome to come to our open mornings to find out more about our school and see our children at work. Once a place has been allocated, you will be given dates in the summer term for your child to visit school and meet their new teacher and you will receive specific information about starting school arrangements. We have good links with many local nurseries and invite them or parents to bring the children to visit our Reception transition sessions staring in June and we may visit the children in their pre-school settings and at home. We are happy to tailor a personal induction programme for children with special needs who may need more visits to prepare them for school.
Birmingham City Council no longer handles applications for mid-year school places or waiting lists for schools.
If your child is transferring from another school or starting mid-year, you will need to complete the Heath Mount Primary School Admissions Form (see below). Alternatively, parents can obtain the form from the school office.
The school now holds its own waiting lists; which is managed in accordance with Birmingham Local Authority procedures. Please be aware that your child can go down as well as up the list as new applications come in.
Should you require any further information, please contact the school office on 0121 464 1691.
